FAQ - What is a cue sheet?

A cue sheet is a listing of the music used in a TV show or movie by title, composer, publisher, timing and type of usage (e.g., background, feature, theme) usually prepared by the producer of the program or film. Again, if your songs are registered, then the information will come automatically.

What do I need to do to get my music ‘registered’ so that a producer is able to get in touch with me ?

Producers will not find you, you must go find them.  Registered, in this description has to do with your PRO (ASCAP/BMI, etc).

My music was recently used on ABC’s “The Bachelor”.  I received a royalty check from BMI but I didn’t authorize a release, nor did I have any discussion with the producer or production company about the pay schedule.  While I’m happy they used it, it looks like there is some standard formula they use based on length of the song portion that they used, etc.
Does anyone know if there is a set formula?
