Legendary Songwriter
As part of legendary Motown Records songwriting trio Holland-Dozier-Holland, Lamont Dozier is responsible for having created the songs that turned a fledgling Detroit record company into an industry groundbreaker and powerhouse. With more than 50 #1 songs, including “Baby Love,” “Stop! In the Name of Love,” “You Can’t Hurry Love” and “Reach Out, I’ll Be There,” he is considered one of the principal creators of the early Motown sound. Dozier’s list of accolades includes three Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe, induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, an R&B Foundation Pioneer Award and a BMI ICON award, among others. He has just re-released his 2002 album, Reflections of Lamont Dozier, on his new label, Jam Right Entertainment, and is currently involved in several other projects including a musical called Roll Over Beethoven and promoting four new Jam Right acts. |
