Jason Blume, whose songs are on albums that have sold more than 45 million copies, has written “Back to Your Heart” from the Backstreet Boys’ Grammy nominated album, Millennium, “Dear Diary” from Britney Spears’ multi-platinum release Oops, I Did it Again, John Berry’s Top 5 country single, “Change My Mind” and Steve Azar’s country hit “I Never Stopped Lovin’ You.”

He has worked with artists including the Judds, Alabama, Pointer Sisters, Eurythmics, Diana Ross, Dolly Parton, Starship, Kenny Rogers, Aaron Tippin, Engelbert Humperdinck, the Oak Ridge Boys, MC Potts and Darlene Austin. His music is also featured on the soundtrack of Disney’s hit film, “First Kid” and heard on shows including the “Miss America Pageant,” “Dangerous Minds,” “Entertainment Tonight” and the Emmy-Award winning “Whatever Happened to Childhood.”

One of the nation’s most respected songwriting teachers, he is the author of the critically acclaimed 6 Steps to Songwriting Success: The Comprehensive Guide to Writing and Marketing Hit Songs (Billboard Books), which is required reading at many major universities. The new and revised second edition was recently released in May 2004. He has also written Inside Songwriting: Getting to the Heart of Creativity (Billboard Books).

He produced Writing Hit Melodies with Jason Blume and Writing Hit Lyrics with Jason Blume, the first two volumes in a series of instructional CDs, as well as The Way I Heard It, a CD featuring Jason’s versions of his own songs that have been recorded by other artists.
